Papa Harpold---time--2 hours , rating--hard , elevation--1700-3200

-- best in spring and fall (summers are hot and snaky)

--from downtown Grand Forks go East across Granby River bridge and turn left on Granby road.

--just past Valley Heights Road take a gravel road to the right.Follow until a gate on your right.Go through the gate about 100 yards and look for a trail on the left.Follow the trail crossing and old road to a fence line.Immediately after the fence turn left and continue along the fence line , watch for the trail now starting to climb over a rock and away from the fence.

--the trail next intersects Overton Road.Cross the road and angle to the left past a stock watering pond and up through an Aspen grove.The trail again will hit the road.Follow for about 50 yards , the trail will climb off the road up a steep bank,continue until another fence line.

--turn right at the fence and follow until a trail takes off to the right.Continue until a short down onto an old road ,go straight and pick up the trail .When the trail reaches a little pass look for cairns on the right . The trail now climbs to a road , follow up to the top of harpold and enjoy the view .
